Haikyuu is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Haruichi Furudate. It has been serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since February 2012. The series follows the story of Shōyō Hinata, who started playing volleyball after seeing the small stature of another player and aiming to be like him. Hinata joins the volleyball team at Karasuno High School and becomes part of the club's new recruits. He is put into a team with three other players, Tobio Kageyama, Ryūnosuke Tanaka, and Daichi Sawamura.
The series has been adapted into an anime television series by Production I.G. The first season aired from October 2014 to March 2015, and the second season aired from October 2015 to December 2015. A third season has been announced and is set to air in 2019.
